Single Store - All on 1 machine

 

For whom?

This setup can be used for a small single store using one terminal. The terminal hosts the database and the whole LS One suite.

Items, prices, discounts and so on are controlled in the Site Manager at the terminal. This requires a keyboard and preferably a mouse connected to the terminal while working with the Site Manager.

 

Pros

  • Very simple setup
  • No need for data replication

Cons

  • Setup is dependent on one machine so if this machine fails then you have a problem

Before you start

  • Make sure to take backups of the back office database to an external drive on a regular basis

How to setup

On the POS terminal:

  1. Download the installation files of the LS One suite to your machine. The installs are found on the partner portal.

    Is there a SQL server or SQL Express installed on the machine?

    If not make sure to download the Site Manager installs that includes the SQL Express server install you need for your machine.

  2. Installation:
  3. Run the Site Manager activate your license
  4. If you do not have a database server on your machine you need to install the SQL Express server that comes with your install.
  5. Connect the Site Manager to a data source
    • If you do not have a database you are instructed in how to create one.
  6. Run the POS and connect to the same data source.
  7. Activate the LS One POS license
  8. Configure the Site Service to connect to the same database

 

No Data Director or Scheduler setup is needed but because functionality depending on centralized data access always rely on the LS Site Service, it needs to be installed to get a fully functional system.
