Using the Scheduler
When you have installed and configured the Data Director and gotten to know the default replication data you can start exploring the possibilities of creating your own jobs and subjobs.
The Data Director an scheduler can also be used to move data between databases of different designs and in that way import data from other systems. Read more about functionality of the scheduler setup.
- Distribution Locations are used to connect to different data sources.
- Distribution Location Groups - Group distribution locations together and send one job to all locations at the same time
- Jobs - Create your own jobs that run a selection of your subjobs on a schedule
- Subjobs - Each subjob moves data from one table to another, either with the same design or by using a database map.
- Database designs and linked tables - the database design is a map of all your tables and fields in your data source.
- Database maps - Database maps are needed when you send data between databases that do not have the same design or if you want to affect the data you are sending in some way.
